  • Workshop Schedule

    10:00 Start

Welcome and Introduction to the day

    Session 1: Images and Text

By the end of the workshop we will have a finished PDF ready to send to the printers. We begin the day by preparing the images and text ready for the design

    Session 2: Sequencing

To create a photobook that flows, a good sequence is vital. We will look at two different methods of creating a sequence and discuss why the sequence works in this instance

    Ten Minute Rest Break

    Session 3: Concept and Narrative

Every successful photobook has a concept and narrative that lifts the book beyond being an album of photographs. We will look at how the concept and narrative evolves from an initial idea for a project / photobook

    Lunch Break

  • Affinity Publisher is used for the workshop, which is available for both Mac or Windows and is available for a low cost compared to other software. The content of the workshop will help you get the most out of other software if that is your preference. Affinity Publisher is very similar to Adobe Design.

Session 4: Affinity Publisher Design 1

Affinity Publisher is a low priced DTP programme that used well will help produce a professional looking photobook easily. We will cover master pages that speed up the process and make our design more coherent, adding images, text and creating our first page layout.

Session 5: Affinity Publisher Design 2

With our first page layout complete we will add additional pages in a fast, creative and stylish way, making a professional looking photobook

Ten Minute Rest Break

Session 6: Affinity Publisher 3: Exporting for Print

16:00 End
