with Professional Photographer Stewart Wall
———————
Wednesday May 8th 2024 10am – 4pm
On May7th Professional Photographer Stewart Wall will be visiting the club to deliver a lecture on Creating Succesful Photographic Projects and Photobooks. The following day he will be delivering a workshop to a group of members on the Streets of Norwich to show them how to put it into practice. His studio will then design a collaborative photobook featuring the members photography that they create that day.
Stewart will guide the members, using the skills he learnt as a local and Fleet Street press photographer on how to create cohesive narratives that pull a project and photobook together. Stewart is also an Assessor and Advisor for the Royal Photographic Society Distinctions. He Chairs Licentiate and wrote the criteria for the RPS Photobooks Distinction as well as chairing the assessments for the first two years.
During the workshop Stewart will help with cameracraft skills, such as camera settings and composition as well as how to create narratives for a project of photobook.
‘The Master Guide to Creating Project and Photo-Haiku’ Photography’
‘The Master Guide to Creating Project and Photo-Haiku’ Photography’
The Art of Seeing
Photo-Haiku, is a photographic approach that Stewart employs to help workshop attendees see in a different way, and create more powerful images. Past attendees report they have found the approach enjoyable and often return for more. During the workshop each attendee is given a copy Stewart’s publication that helps develop skills. It is called ‘The Master Guide to Creating Project and Photo-Haiku’ Photography’
and their is space to make notes throughout the workshop. The guide is kept by the attendees so they refer to it afterwards.
The Project Photo-book
After the event, all attendees will also be invited to have images in the Ginko Photobook from the workshop and will receive a complimentary copy in the post once it is created. These books are a marvellous momento of the workshop day, and prove a great learning aid as you will be able to see what your peers created on the same day of the same thing as yourself.
