Designing a Great Photobook / Zine Like a Professional – from Concept to Printing Workshop
Using Affinity Publisher with Stewart Wall
Wednesday May 22nd 2024 – 10am to 4pm (includes rest breaks and lunch break)
(live interactive workshop using Zoom with plenty of time for participants’ questions)
Limited to 10 participants.
The Tutor: Stewart has been a professional photographer since the 1980s and has been designing photobooks for over twenty-five years. He holds a BA (Hons) in Photography and Design, an MA in Photography and a Level 7 PGCE teaching qualification.
He has delivered photobook workshops for the RPS and in colleges and camera clubs for a number of years. In 2020 the Society asked him to create the criteria for the new RPS Distinctions Photobook genre, and he helped launch it by chairing the assessments for the first two years. Since then a number of attendees from his past workshops and mentoring programmes have gone on to gain Associate and Fellowship distinctions with the Society with their photobooks.
During the workshop, Stewart will clearly demonstrate how he creates a photobook from start to finish, using the ‘Core Skills’ needed so you can see how the whole process come together. There will be ample time throughout the day for questions.
By the end of the workshop you will have an understanding of all you need to know to create a great professional looking photobook.
After the workshop you will receive:
1) a PDF of the content you will have access to Stewart’s online course of the same content as a reminder of what was covered during the day
2) Access to Stewart’s online course of the same content so you can replay the content as a reminder whilst you create your own photobooks
The Workshop delivers the core skills and exactly what you need to create your own photobooks and zines like a professional.
As one of Stewart’s students you are welcome to email him at anytime for further help.
