Regardless of whether you are a budding professional or keen hobbyist this online or in-person lecture will help you discover that the key to creating work that others engage with more.
During this lecture or workshop we will look at how photojournalists like David Hurn and Mary Ellen Mark, who was at the Photography Show in 2015, a few weeks before she sadly died when I took the lead photograph in this article.
We will then look at how the mindset of a photojournalist can be applied to make any sort of photograph, whether it is news, landscape, portrait, nature, sport etc and make more engaging images that all viewers, picture editors or even camera club judges will engage with more. This approach will take you as a photographer to new levels.

Workshop Attendee Feedback
“Just to say thank you for the great day I had on our club Walkabout day with yourself in Grimsby. I found your introduction in the morning most interesting and encouraging to get out there and have a go”…. Janina
“I would just like say what a really enjoyable day you put on for us all” Mike
“I found your pre-talk highly informative and feedback given to the other participants was very constructive.
I think the amount of time given for shooting was about right and given the weather, we were incredibly lucky.
Group sizes were spot on as we were all able to take a variety of shots, with each member of each group having similar shots but often with a different interpretation” Jo
